This is for studio mixing but has some great ideas and insights on how different instruments mix together.

Pod HD

FYI. Returned the Pod HD500. Seems like great system but to create all the sounds from XT and X3 was too much work. The HD500 is a totally different sound unit. Got a Boss GT10 and have been using with my Godin 5th Ave Hollow body guitar.

Top 5 tips for better tone with POD X3 Live

1. Run line out to PA and use your Amp as a monitor. You can bypass the pre-amp if you have effects send/return jacks or set your tone controls to match the PA sound.

2. Use less distortion and treble. What ever you think sounds good at home, decrease the distortion and treble/presence by 10 to 15 percent. This will usually ensure a nice tone without the fuzz...

3. If you have access to recording software, record you tones and play them back. This can help you fine tune your tone.

4. Never assume that just because it sounds good through your amp that it will sound good through the PA.

5. Use POD reverb sparingly or not at all when playing through a PA system.
